Taste of Life Newsletter Janurary 11, 2009

Hello Everyone,

Well, life is getting back to normal after the holidays. It feels kind
of good again to get into a schedule. I think I’ve got all the pine
needles out of the carpet. Funny how you can find them a month later!
Or is that only me?!

ENTREE DISCOUNTS: We have an abundance of some frozen entrees. We’re
offering a discount of 25% off on these frozen entrees while supplies
last. The sale includes these entrees: veggie quiche, veggie lasagna,
chicken bites, spicey chicken bites, and also our frozen cinnamon swirl
bread. This is a perfect time to stock up while supplies last.

LEMON CHICKEN is back on the shelves again. Also ground hog stew will
be coming back by mid week. Our kitchen is getting back into normal
production since the holiday crunch is behind us. January is always a
little tricky for us to figure out how much we’ll sell since people are
recovering from the Christmas budget crunch. We’ll try to have specials
each week to help families as much as possible.

FOOD PANTRY HELP: Speaking of helping families; Taste of Life has made
a committment to help the local food pantries in Monument and Falcon.
We will donate a percentage of our sales to both of these
organizations. So everytime you shop with us, you’re helping out Tri
Lakes Cares and High Plains Helping Hands. We have donated to these
organizations before by giving them some of our meals. They are soooo
appreciative! They told us that especially the individual meals are
helpful for senior citizens and single people. So if when you’re
purchasing your family groceries you would like to purchase a meal for
them, we’ll turn it over to the food pantry for you. We are also a drop
off point for any other contributions you’d like to make. Of course
large item contributions should be dropped off at their facility, but if
you’d like to bring in extra canned goods, mac & cheese boxes, top ramen
noodles, etc. you can put those in the tubs we have available. We
donate our frozen bread so if we work together and also give more of
our entrees they would really appreciate it. In this difficult economy
the needs have greatly increased.

THE BOSCH MACHINE: If you have been considering purchasing a Bosch
mixer I need to let you know that the price is going up on March 1st.
Right now the price is $359.95. They haven’t told us how much it’s
going up, just that it is. I’ll try to have a breadmaking class at the
end of January or beginning of February. I’ll email as soon as a date
is set.

We’ve had a very good response to our Castle Rock co-op. We’re very
excited about this. The delivery will happen this coming Wednesday and
then we’ll offer another one two weeks from then. We’ve had people
express interest in the Woodland Park area so who knows. We may go
there with a co-op as well. Just let us know if you have a group of
friends in your area that would like this service.

TASTEE JOES and BARBEQUE BEEF and PULLED PORK: Did you know that one
container of Tastee Joes fills a dozen of our dinner rolls? Twelve
little sandwiches. Our new barbeque beef tastes excellent on our dinner
rolls as well. And if you haven’t tried the pulled pork from Socolofsky
Farms you’re missing a real treat. Try this over rice or on a roll.
The hot variety is really hot, just right for you thick tongued people.
I love the mild version and sometimes I buy one of each to mix them up
and get a medium heat. Either way, I guarantee, you’ll love it.

GLUTEN FREE: Our line of gluten free items has increased now. We have
gluten free bread, pizza crusts and sugar cookies. Let me know if you’d
like us to carry any other items. I’ll check into getting that as well.

Well, that’s about it. Check out the website to preorder groceries or
entrees. Remember, we offer a discount for preordering as long as you
meet a minimum. Please tell your friends about our little store. We
really appreciate the help in getting the word out about our business.
Sometimes I wish we could shine a big old fashioned beacon light from
our roof at either location just to let the community know we’re there.
Until then, we appreciate your shining faces lighting the way to our stores.

See you all soon.
