Taste of Life Newsletter January 25, 2009

Hello Everyone,

How’s life? Busy as usual? Yup, us too. The kitchen’s got the
teriyaki chicken and sweet basil chicken breasts back in production.
We’ve got plenty of our new meat loaf and cheesy potatoes ready to go.
And ground hog stew is back also. I sampled the new cheesy knots this
week. Wowser! They are soooo moist and good. I put them on the
Superbowl Munchie list too. You must try these!

SUPERBOWL MUNCHIES: Have you planned your Superbowl party yet? We can
help with the munchies. Take a look online and click on the link in the
left margin. We’ve added a wonderful new pizza with a spicey Schultz
pizza sauce, seasoned chicken and other tastey toppings. Notice the
wonderful Socolofsky Farms spare ribs too. All cooked and ready to warm
and eat. Take a quick look to see if we can make life easier for you
next weekend.

HONEY AND BUFFALO PREORDER: The response has been fabulous. There were
alot of you out there waiting for the buffalo! You still have this week
to place your order and prepay. You can choose your size of honey
container and then we have the ground buffalo and buffalo patties listed
on the order link. I’m glad we can help everyone out by your
willingness to preorder. Thanks for your understanding.

WHOLESOME MILK PRODUCTS: I have some new information regarding our milk
company. I was not aware that other companies who ultra pasteurize
their milk or who heat the milk extensively, to the highest legal
limits, for the purpose of a longer shelf life, damage the Vitamin D in
the milk. Because of this, they must enrich their milk with synthetic
Vitamin D to regain sufficient amounts. Our Wholesome Milk Products has
recently found that if they increased the temperature of their
pasteurization by only a couple degrees, they have been able to
stabilize their product to now extend the product to approximately 5
days beyond the date on the bottle. Their most important goal has
always been to offer the best quality milk for our community, full of
natural nutrients with the richest flavor. Even with this new
temperature they never have to add any synthetic nutrients because their
process preserves the natural product. We can feel very good about the
quality of milk we are enjoying as families. It truly is the closest
way God would have us enjoy this natural source of calcium and vitamin
D. If you had given up on this milk company while they struggled to
find the right formula in the past, I urge you to try it again. You
will be very happy with the results. Also, have you noticed the new
lower price? Only $3.75 a gallon! And the chocolate milk is still just
as great as ever.

TRI LAKES CARES & HELPING HANDS: We have enjoyed helping the local food
panties in the past and now we’re making it simpler for you all to help
them too. We’ve got a tub for you to place simple canned or boxed
foods. Also, if you feel compelled to give more, you can purchase any
size meal in our store and we’ll turn it into the food pantry for you.
On top of this, Taste of Life will be giving a percentage of sales back
to Tri Lakes Cares in Monument and Helping Hands Food Pantry in
Falcon. There are so many families needing a helping hand so we’re
happy to help out.
CHANGE IN STORE HOURS: This week we will still be operating at our
normal business hours. However, beginning in February, we will close
one hour earlier, at 6:30 p.m. Falcon location will open at 9 am and
Monument will open at 8 am as normal. These will be our winter hours
and then we’ll revisit this decision in the summer. But, this week, the
hours remain the same as usual.

I think that’s about all the news for now. It will be Valentine’s Day
before we know it. We’re thinking of offering our special Valentine’s
dinner for two again. Of course we should make our wonderful chocolate
dipped candies, and do you remember our cute little candy suckers? It
seems there is always something that we can do for special occasions.

It seems everyone’s life is getting back to normal. Business is up!
Yippee! Have I told you before that we really appreciate you all?
We’re always getting people in the store who say that a friend told them
about us. Thank you, thank you for spreading the word. You’re all the
BEST!
Thanks,
Donna
